Our Network
Assurance plan is designed to help keep your business
network healthy and operational on an on-going basis. It
covers all the important aspects of routinely monitoring and
maintaining your network so you can focus on running your
business. Most business owners and managers do not have the
time, staff or technical expertise to view and interpret
system event logs, keep their systems updated and maintain
network documentation. Critical functions such as backups
and disaster recovery are often overlooked or become
unreliable over time. This can spell big trouble when
failures occur. By preemptively monitoring and maintaining
your network’s pulse, Techni-Core can spot many small
problems before they become big ones and give you peace of
mind.
To be eligible for this plan,
Techni-Core clients must be a current On-Call IT Support
Services client. Your assigned Techni-Core Engineer must
first ensure your network is in a healthy state and meets
the following criteria in order to enroll you in
Techni-Core's Network Assurance Service plan.
- Have critical Network Documentation that
is current and accurate
- Have a current Backup Plan
- Have licensed software and have all
installation CDs and Keys available
- Be operating Windows 2003 Servers and XP
and/or Vista workstations
- Be approved for eligibility by a
Techni-Core Network Engineer
- Routine site calls by an experienced
Techni-Core System Administrator
- Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly frequency of
site calls depending on your Assurance Agreement level.
Networks that are extremely business critical will
benefit from weekly site calls, but many small business
owners may determine that a monthly or perhaps quarterly
agreement is sufficient for their needs.
- View critical system event logs on servers
for alerts and warnings. Determine if any critical
errors exist that need urgent resolution by a
Techni-Core System Engineer (for example hard drive
warnings, RAID fault tolerance degradation or failure,
virus protection warnings etc.)
- Check operating system service pack level
and check for missing critical patches. Update as
necessary.
- Check backup systems and review backup
selections to ensure they are valid and correct. Check
to make sure any backup plan in place has not changed
which would affect the ability to restore systems and
data effectively.
- Update or refresh emergency recovery
disks, system state backups or automated system recovery
images (where applicable).
- Check health of Anti-Virus and
Anti-Spyware services.
- Run hard drive error checks and repair
logical errors if found
- Defrag servers and workstations
- Check current Network Documentation and
update as necessary.
- Update existing Disaster Recovery Plan as
necessary.
- Check current License Compliance.
- Check various security checkpoints
- Maintain system configuration reports for
all servers and workstations and update as necessary.
- Make minor system configuration changes if
needed to resolve minor issues (more involved
configuration changes and system troubleshooting and
resolution are covered under our Tier 1 On-Call IT
Support Services).
- Provide the client with a written summary
of findings after each site call.
The following tasks would fall under an
existing
On-Call IT Support Services plan:
- Disaster Recovery (i.e. emergency system
recovery – not plan preparation)
- Hardware and Software Installation and
Support
- New Deployments and System Upgrades
- Major system configuration changes
- Programming and customizations
Techni-Core Network Services’ Network Assurance
Service plan is the perfect solution for existing
Techni-Core clients who need more than just ad hoc site
calls to fix occasional problems. The key to keeping a
network healthy and sustainable is to carry out preemptive
maintenance. Network Assurance goes a step further by
ensuring that critical (and often overlooked) documentation
is kept up to date which can prove invaluable in situations
when unexpected problems occur. While Network Assurance
can’t guarantee you won’t have a hard drive crash or system
failure, it can make sure you have the backups and
procedures in place needed to properly recover from the
unexpected.
Techni-Core's Network Assurance Plan is a complementary
service to our existing On-Call IT Support Services which
are available for emergency calls and troubleshooting.
